My YouTube subscriptions

I have to admit. I'm kinda addicted to YouTube. It's like a never ending stream of knowledge and fun. However, lets be honest - it's a real time eating machine. Hours will fly by as minutes while you are exploring the wonders of online videos. YouTube can help you discover and learn a lot of new things, but you better be very careful with the content you choose to watch and making a decision to click on that next video.

I used to be subscribed to like a hundred of channels. Some were really great and others... Well, lets just say I probably seen like one or two videos from them. So, one day as I caught myself wasting time on random videos the nth time, I have decided to clean everything up (Facebook also didn't got away, by the way, and was cleaned up from various useless page subscriptions).

I will share what channels survived my cleanup with a short description about them. I hope you will find something worth your time as well.

Be Inspired

This channel is great when you need that extra motivation. The videos are truly inspiring. Although, some of them are quite long, thus making me think before watching is it really worth devote half an hour just to get a bit motivated. Nonetheless, a must have channel.

CaseyNeistat

I believe everyone knows by now who is Casey Neistat. A filmmaker, a vlogger and in general inspiring persona. The reason I kept this channel in my list is that Casey reached the place where he is right now from nothing. He struggled hard, but he never gave up. When I watch his videos I feel inspired, motivated and want to work my projects afterwards. Anyway, you can appreciate him just by the content he is putting out. The videos are entertaining and if you notice how much work goes into making that video, you will appreciate it even more. One great video which describes Casey Neistat's style is made by Nerdwriter1.

Chris Stuckmann

Chris Stuckmann is a movie critic. I don't remember how I found his channel, but I kept the subscription, because I really enjoy his style of reviewing movies. Chris Stuckmann, somehow manages to objectively and without spoiling tell you about the movie and is it worth your time or not. I actually like watching his reviews after I see the movie also, because mostly I agree with his opinion. If the movie was good, I like it even more after watching the review 😁.

Coffee Break

This channel isn't very big and active, yet the creator uploads some really interesting analytical videos. Mostly they are quite short to fit into your coffee break 🙂

ColdFusion

This is a very interesting channel. Topics are mostly focused on futurism and technology. The author has a unique voice and speaks a bit with an accent. He also creates music which he uses in his videos. If you seek knowledge, enjoy science and technology and want to go a bit deeper in some interesting topics, this channel is for you.

Joe Scott

This channel is not very big yet, but it's growing and I can easily see it landing amongst top science channels eventually. Joe tackles various science topics on his videos, but tries to explain them in such a way that everybody would understand. The videos are not just plainly about science. He tries to consider the consequences and the reasons behind all of it, also sneaking in some jokes. You can even suggest your own topic.

Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell

This is a very beautiful channel. The videos are about various science, economical or society topics told with a quality animation. That animation looks gorgeous on a big screens. The authors usually look into a topic from both sides of view, thus they should be interesting for everyone.

LEMMiNO

This is one my most loved channels. There are mostly Top 10 facts videos about everything along with some short documentaries. The content is very interesting and told in an entertaining way. Moreover, the authors voice is so good for such videos. I remember watching most of the videos of this channel on a one or two sessions. They are really that good, just pick a topic 🙂

Marques Brownlee

I believe anyone who has ever been looking for a phone review before buying one know about MKBHD. He's an another example of persistence and not giving up. Marques grew his channel on his  own from crappy PC application tutorials when he was still a kid to a really good, informative and quality videos he produces right now. All of his old videos are still on his channel, so can see for yourself how he progressed over the years. Phones are not the only think reviewed on this channel, so you could sum it up as "Dope tech" videos as MKBHD calls it.

PBS Space Time

PBS Space Time is physics science channel which talks about various space time related topics on a more advanced level. So if you are even a little bit geeky about space, you should enjoy it!

Tom Bilyeu

This channel is similar to Be Inspired. Actually Be Inspired used some footage from Tom's channel. The videos are a true inspiration and motivation bombs. There are short ones like the one above and many videos where he interviews various high achievers. Really worth checking out if you see something more from your life.

Veritasium

Veritasium is a must have channel on your list. The videos are suitable for everyone, will deepen your knowledge about the world around you and will inspire you to think, ask questions and explore. The quality is high and topics are very interesting.

Vsauce

This is a channel which is not afraid to ask weird and unusual questions like: What colour is a mirror?  Why are bad words bad? What is the speed of dark? etc. The author is a very good speaker and will make you glued through the whole video. Definitely a must have channel.

Honorable mentions:

Well guys, that's it. Have you found anything worth your time? Maybe, you have some interesting channels on your list? Please share them in the comments!
